Chief Chef Heiser
Don Heiser, the Chief Chef of Firehouse Gourmet, is a firefighter with over 37 years in the fire service. He is the retired Fire Chief and Director of Marine Safety for the City of Encinitas and is currently a volunteer Deputy Fire Chief for the Elfin Forrest-Harmony Grove Fire Department. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Vocational Education, a Professional Certificate in Cooking from Chef Neil Stuart, Instructor and a Food Service Managers Training Certificate.

Firehouse Gourmet came about due to his love of fire service and of cooking. "When I can do something for a person and they walk away with a smile, I have done my job as a firefighter or a chef."

Chef Heiser incorporates the Pacific Rim and Southwestern influences, as well as, classic French, New Orleans cuisine and the heat of Tequila to create the style and flavor of the Firehouse Gourmet.
